When you commit changes to Visual Paradigm Teamwork Server, a revision is created and the files required to compose the revision are stored in repository. The more revisions in the repository, the more files remain server, the more disk space consume. Compact is a technique to help reduce repository size by compacting files created in earlier revisions.
Normally, server will run compact automatically for every twenty revisions. However, for repository that is upgraded from a version that doesn't support compacting, automatic-compact is by default disabled. However, it is possible to turn the option on and off at server side. Here is how to configure compact option: - Login to the web interface of the server. For users who are using the standalone (non-web) version of Teamwork Server, login by visting: http://<server-ip>:<port>/vpteamwork/. If you did not reconfigure the port before, the number should be 1999.
- Visit the System page.
 - Click on the Compact Option button.

This opens the Compact Option page.
 - If you do not let Teamwork Server to carry out automatic compacting, select Full History and press OK to confirm. Otherwise, select Delta History and press OK to confirm.

Compacting Server ManuallyBesides letting Teamwork Server to do the compacting for you automatically, you also can do this yourself. Make sure the Compact Option was set to be "Delta History", and perform the steps below: - Login to the web interface of the server.
- Click on the Compact Repository button in the System page. Note that this button appear only if "Delta History" was selected as Compact Option.

This displays the disk space being used by the repository.
